The visible is born from the invisible
Sound is born from silence
A movement is born from stillness
The history of our civilisation is visibly a quest for doing, man’s ceaseless attempt to transcend himself and achieve ever greater capacities to produce, to communicate, to travel and even to destroy. Parallel to this history, at a higher level, in the invisible world of ideas, runs the development of being.
Every conquest in the visible, every increase in capacity, is always anticipated by a conquest in being, by the enlargement of a more general capacity of humanity without which no manifestation is possible. The visible is a projection of the invisible, it depends on it as the shadow depends, in size and shape, on the object that projects it. All that we can see, feel, touch and hear, material objects and the whole business of existence, in all its variety, is but the projection of a world invisible to our senses, vertical to it and constituting its cause.
Even in a man, all that he has been able to build originates from his invisibility, from his ‘dream’, and is manifested outwardly in the quality of his life and in the nature of the events that affect him. A man could accidentally build a kingdom, he could accumulate money, property and castles, but the slightest crack in his ‘dream’ would make him fail. Visibilia ex invisibilibus, the School’s motto, means inner responsibility, it means that the outside can only reveal something that has already happened in the world of ideas, of causes, in the world of creativity, of the ‘dream’.
The visible is born from the invisible
Sound is born from silence
Movement is born from immobility
Everything we can see, feel, touch and hear, reality in all its variety, is nothing but the projection of a world invisible to our senses that exists above our world and is its cause. The invisible is not something metaphysical, poetic or mythical, nor is it something mysterious or supernatural, nor does it concern a stable portion of the world of phenomena and categories of reality.
In every age, the changing intellectual climate, as well as the use of more sophisticated instruments, continually modify its boundaries, bringing ever larger portions of yesterday’s invisible among the legitimate subjects of today’s scientific research.
We are surrounded by invisibility.
We hardly realise that we live in a world of invisibility, that we ourselves are invisible. All our thoughts, emotions, feelings, fantasies, imaginations, dreams, are invisible. And everything that belongs to our hopes, ambitions, secrets, fears, doubts, perplexities, uncertainties and all our feelings, desires, attractions, aversions, loves and hates, are invisible.
Everything that matters and is real in a man is invisible.
The discovery of the existence of a vertical at the axis of economics and business is tantamount to affirming the idea of a world of causes, of a higher order plane on which economic facts depend. Political and social reality depends on being, just as a shadow depends in size and shape on the object that casts it. It is therefore in the system of moral values, and more generally in the invisible world of ideas, of ideological and social values, of philosophy and language, that we find the origin, the engine of the facts that are visibly projected into the world of economics and business and that appear sudden to us because we have not been able to perceive them where they were concretely taking place.
The unexpected always needs long preparation
Only the most attentive people, aware of the great influence of the world of values on the economy, know that economic facts come later, they follow. They, like shadows, are the projection of a reality of a higher order.
Without men with this preparation, this understanding of the profound relationship between ethics, moral values, philosophies, religions, ideas and economics, we will be backward. Backward as a civilisation, as nations and as organisations.
In order to gain access to the world of ideas, it is necessary to abandon the ballast of convictions and prejudices rooted in childhood. Access to the world of ideas, of solutions, of the “dream”, means freeing oneself from fears, doubts, prejudices, obsolete concepts, it means eliminating conflicting thoughts, unpleasant emotions, mechanical behaviour.
The universe is totally abundant, it is a cornucopia overflowing with everything your heart could possibly desire, both on a material and on a mental, emotional and spiritual level. Everything that is needed or desired is already here for the asking. You only need to truly desire it, truly believe it and want it or be able to accept it, finally.
Those who do not perceive the world as rich and abundant
feed the age-old prejudice that poverty is inevitable.
We can only own what we are responsible for. A humanity with unlimited responsibility will have unlimited resources. The art of dreaming, and therefore the art of believing and creating, is the ability to raise being to the level of new possibilities of doing and having. It is the art of harmonising opposites and transforming adversity and antagonism into events of a higher order.
The European School of Economics believes in the individual. Individual comes from indivisible and the ESE is proud to devote all its efforts to the preparation of a new generation of leaders, entrepreneurs and managers, of integrity, impeccable, free from conflicting logic, psychologically mature, capable of harmonising the apparent antagonisms of all time: economics and ethics, action and contemplation, financial power and love. For this they will have to develop a sixth sense, which is intuition, and a seventh sense: the “dream”.
